Searching just got smarter! Windows 11 introduces AI-powered search, making it easier than ever to find what you need.
As Windows 10 nears the end of support, Microsoft is actively promoting upgrades to Windows 11 by introducing exciting new features. A key addition is an AI-powered search function. Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft’s vice president and consumer chief marketing officer, stated that users will no longer need to recall file names or document locations. Instead, Windows will intuitively understand user intent to match documents, images, files, or emails more effectively.

This advanced search, similar to Google Lens, allows users to find files, images, and more by simply describing what they’re looking for in plain language. The AI understands user intent, making it easier to locate items even without precise file names or locations.
However, this powerful feature will initially be exclusive to high-end “Copilot + Branded PCs” equipped with specific processors and dedicated AI hardware. Microsoft will first release this feature to its Windows Insider program for testing before a wider rollout.
In essence, Microsoft is leveraging AI to enhance the Windows 11 search experience, making it more intuitive and user-friendly, while also promoting its latest hardware offerings.
